How often does my child get homework?
Every Monday, your child will be sent home with a homework packet that they will need to work on periodically throughout the week. The packet will be collected on Friday, graded over the weekend, and sent home after your child has graphed their homework score in their leadership notebook.
What is in my child's homework packet?
Each homework packet has activities related to your child's spelling words and math content for that week. In addition to the spelling and math activities, your child will also be required to read for at least 15 minuteseach night and record the title of the book they read in their reading log. If your child reads more than one book, please record each title in your child's reading log.
What should my child do each night?
There is a suggested schedule for what your child should do each night in order to ensure that he or she will be successful at completing the homework. Please keep in mind that it is important for your child to work on the spelling words each night. This will help to prepare them for their weekly spelling tests, which will be given every Friday. Should you ever have any questions or concerns regarding the homework packets that are being sent home, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will do whatever I can to make the process of completing homework as simple as possible for you. The most important thing is that your child is practicing the skills we are learning about in school at home as well.
